A Sense Of Place

I began my sense of place project by researching into Huddersfield, I chose Huddersfield as I live here. I was going to do Weaverham (Where I live), however, I don't go home all the time so I didn't want to waste my time. I explored Huddersfield and took a few photos of the buildings and different signs ect and added them to my sketchbook.
Whilst researching into Huddersfield, I became interested in the different things you can do around the town. I decided from there that I would create a small magazine on what you can do around Huddersfield for students and people visiting.
I decided that my audience will be people my age (18 +), which will be students. I included things like where you can eat, shop and go out at night in the magazine. I feel like these are essential things for a student. I want to promote Huddersfield and inform students what they can actually do here.
I began researching into different brochure designs to see if any will inspire me. I decided to keep my magazine simple because I don't want to confuse students with something to complicated.
After researching I began to design my magazine, I had to choose between different fonts to see which ones work better. I also had to choose how I wanted my layout to be for the inside of the magazine, I found this difficult at first because nothing seemed to be working.
Below is my final design for the whole magazine, I'm happy with how it all turned out.
